I've figured out the top entry fic list creation process apparently. Yay!

Title: Down for the Count
Fandom: Battlestar Galactica
Genre: AU/Gen-Fluff (Relatively fluffy.)
Rating: K+ (some sporting violence)
Word Count: ~3795 (Woah. Unexpected.)
Spoilers: Not much... with it being A/U and all except for the circumstances changed that are mentioned. (^_^)"
Characters/Pairings: Laura Roslin/Kara Thrace; with cameos scattered throughout
A/N: For the "author's choice" leg of the [livejournal.com profile] bsg_epics' pentathalon originally. This is my first attempt at this pairing. Hopefully, it ends up okay... (^_^)" Dedicated to the originators of the "Immortal Goddesses" fic party - [livejournal.com profile] astreamofstars and [livejournal.com profile] lettterstonorah. I'm not sure if I'd ever have had the courage/inspiration to attempt this pairing otherwise. This is technically the second WIP that's Laura/Kara actually. LOL Still working on the the other one. :) Much of the boxing information comes from wikipedia, so I can not validate the legitimacy of what I am talking about in regards to the sport since I have little to no experience with it. I also interrogated my lovely, patient cousin who knows about boxing and a little bit of all types of sport-fighting, but yeah... (^_^)" All mistakes are my own.
Disclaimer: I own nothing.
Summary: What if's are fun, and some times, circumstances are what we make of them.

I dare you. )

Title: Boats A'Sailing Towards the Shore
Fandom: Battlestar Galactica
Genre: Fluff (Yes, it's true! A fluffy fic.)
Rating: K
Word Count: 1090 more or less
Spoilers: Everything?
Characters/Pairings: Felix Gaeta/Louis Hoshi with doses of Dee, because, how can I not?
A/N: Unfortunately unbeta-ed, and hence, all mistakes are mine, and it's only my second attempt at this pairing, so hopefully it will read okay. (^_^)" Some hints towards the head!canon I established in my first fic, but not necessary to reading this fic. This was originally meant to fulfill the "slash" ship leg of the [livejournal.com profile] bsg_epics' pentathalon. Not so relevant, but I figured, since I have some time on my hands and am basically stuck in bed, I might as well finish up some of the all-too-many WIPs I have on my computer.
Disclaimer: I really don't own anything.
Summary: Felix sets up shop and waits with some help.

Title: A Snippet, from A Series in a Bar for [livejournal.com profile] defyingnormalcy
Fandom: The Closer/Major Crimes
Genre: Gen (for now); will most likely be AU by the time we get more in later seasons
Rating: K+ (for now)
Word Count: c.800 (more or less)
Spoilers: Everything?
Characters/Pairings: primarily Sharon Raydor, Andrea Hobbs, and Gavin Q. Baker (though the rest of the Major Crimes squad, some background characters, and definitely Rusty, will come in later) - friendship for the most part now, may change later
A/N: This is going to be an 'ongoing' gift for [livejournal.com profile] defyingnormalcy. I realize that this first part is quite short, and quite possibly uhmm... I'm not sure how it is, but I hope it is okay! (I've forgotten how bad I am when attempting to jump into writing for a new fandom - also, I need to find a beta. LOL) I am hoping, in the course of writing this fic, which is almost like a series, that everyone of your prompts will be fulfilled. Thank you for pushing me to write this though - all the plans in the world would have meant nothing, if I gave it up. :D (Also, I apologize for being late. Muse have been withholding, despite my pleading and nerves.)
Disclaimer: I own nothing.
Summary: Three lawyers walked into a bar, and the first one said...

...they are going to write jokes about this, you know that right? )
obsessive_a101: (Satoshi)
Two aren't quite finished yet.

Title: Didactic Scars
Fandom: Battlestar Galactica
Genre: Angst (no, quite seriously) - I'm beginning to think some of my intepretations of "shippy" may not be what I think they are.
Rating: T
Word Count: 1200 (more or less)
Spoilers: Everything?
Characters/Pairings: Tory Foster/ Sharon "Boomer" Valerii
A/N: I just wanted to fix it. I wanted them to find their peace, and darn it, they deserved better, but this fits within canon I think. >>" (Though something I have been made aware of through trying to participate in the [livejournal.com profile] bsg_epics Pentathalon is that shippy writing can be very, very difficult - though I guess that depends on how one defines "shippy". Ironically, the two most "shippy" ones are the ones I haven't finished writing yet. ><")
Disclaimer: I own nothing.
Summary: Didactic [dahy-dak-tik] (adj.): (1)intended for instruction; instructive; (2) inclined to teach or lecture others too much; (3) teaching or intending to teach a moral lesson// didactics (used with a singular verb) the art or science of teaching. (dictionary.reference.com)

Title: Like a Target in a Fish Pond
Fandom: Battlestar Galactica
Genre: Romance - I guess...
Rating: K+
Word Count: 950 (or thereabouts)
Spoilers: Everything.
Characters/Pairings: Kara Thrace/Lee Adama
A/N: This is my first try at this pairing! Hopefully, it is not a disaster. Everything, though (somewhat) planned ahead of time, was sort of written at the last minute, soo... However, the second fic I had planned for the [livejournal.com profile] bsg_epics Pentathalon.
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters, setting, specific plot lines, etc... Basically, BSG does not belong to me. :D
Summary: She visits, sometimes..., and it makes about just as much sense as a skipping stone.

When she thinks, she's dangerous. )
obsessive_a101: (Satoshi)
Technically, written for the [livejournal.com profile] bsg_epics pentathalon, but I am most definitely late so... Either way.

Title: Through Words I Rejoice
Fandom: Battlestar Galactica
Genre: Romance
Rating: K+ (possibly T for some language? maybe? I am very bad at ratings, but better safe than sorry)
Word Count: 1355 (more or less)
Spoilers: Basically everything in a very vague sort of way.
Characters/Pairings: Laura Roslin/William Adama
A/N: First one is my A/R fic, and it was surprisingly difficult to figure this one out. Many, MANY thaks to [livejournal.com profile] afrakaday who beta-ed for me despite circumstances, which made her downright HEROIC. However, all mistakes are my own.
Disclaimer: I do not own anything. Otherwise, EVERYONE WOULD BE HAPPY FOREVER AND EVER - or not. :3
Summary: Sharing words was an entire language between them, though apparently, sometimes more one-way than expected.

To be or not to be... nevermind. )
obsessive_a101: (Default)
Dear [livejournal.com profile] gracent_dic, I deeply apologize for the lateness of my A/R gift. The last few weeks were unexpectedly (or maybe just to me) crazy with exams, papers, and such, and I realize that's no excuse for the delay in this gift. I can only hope that you like and enjoy it in the end. I admit that I am severely out of practice in writing fic, and this came out much more gen and angsty than expected. However, I hope the end makes up a bit for it.

Anyway, onwards!

Title: The Other Side
Fandom: Battlestar Galactica
Genre: Angst/Romance (I hope?), also quite... Gen
Rating: T
Word Count: ~5000
Spoilers: Everything
Characters/Pairings: Lee, Adama/Roslin, and Kara/Sam
Prompt: "A fic that also involves Kara/Sam in some way and is not set on New Caprica. (The K/S doesn't have to be equal amounts as the A/R, I just love interaction between them all.)"
A/N: This was written as part of the AR comm's secret Valentine exchange. Needless to say, I am shamefully, very late. However, I do hope the end results are ok (I have been sadly out of practice), and that it works with the wonderful prompt [livejournal.com profile] gracent_dic provided. I couldn't manage to avoid NC completely, but it's not on NC (unless you count mental space...). I want to thank a RL friend who read through this for me and convinced me that it was NOT too horrendous and that I should post. (Also, I sincerely hope that multiple intertwining narrative lines are ok... It's a habit I have yet to break.) PN: Also, I haven't really ever written some of these characters (three guess which ones) before, so I really do hope it's okay.
Disclaimer: If I owned it, you'd know it. LOL! Trust me, I own nothing.
Summary: The spaces we need to cross aren't always physical, but with time and patience, we trust them to close - healed.

Let's jump in! )

Title: To Compose a Vector: A Duet in Three Parts
Fandom: Battlestar Galactica
Genre: Romance (I hope) with a small-dose of Angst
Rating: T
Word Count: ~8100 (more or less a hundred or so)
Spoilers: Everything.
Characters/Pairings: Felix Gaeta/Louis Hoshi; ensemble
A/N: This is for the ship-swap over at [livejournal.com profile] bsg_epics for [livejournal.com profile] lls_mutant, who so kindly provided me this opportunity to write, apparently, the longest thing I've written in this fandom thus far, quite surprisingly. Also, many thanks to my kind beta [livejournal.com profile] lorrainemarker who patiently treaded through my parentheses-filled waters. However, any and all mistakes remaining are mine, and I make my apologies for them.
Disclaimer: I do not own anything.
Summary: If we add up all the little distances we travel in life, we are bound to find the resultant vector.

Onwards step... )

So, recently over the weekend [livejournal.com profile] deborah_judge was modding happily along at [livejournal.com profile] bsg_epics, and she brought up a very intriguing idea involving three wishes of what we would have liked from canon. Reading the resulting comments... sort of bloomed into a morning wake-up call from the muse, and basically, this story. I apologize for my tendency for impulsive writing, and I am not at all sure about how I've written the voices in this fic.

While Dee is a character that I relate well with, it made it all the more difficult to find her voice because I am, myself, not always sure what will get out of my head and into the physical world. However, I am happy because it is the first time I've seriously tried handling these two characters. Anyway, as always, thank you for reading and any feedback/critique is always appreciated. (I also apologize for any inconsistencies. I have not been able to re-watch these episodes since they aired/the first time I saw them, so I depend a lot on secondary sources and faulty memory.)

Title: with my three wishes clutched in her hand
Fandom: Battlestar Galactica
Genre: Gen with a side-dose of Angst (if you've seen these episodes, that should be self-evident)
Rating: T
Wordcount: more or less 1700
Spoilers: I'd like to say everything again, but at the very least, the first half of season 4.5
Characters/Pairings: Dee, Felix, and Laura (guest-starring Lee); all canon pairings implied
Summary: AU - Step 1: You say, "We need to talk."

clutched in my hand - I won't let go )

A BSG ficlet from a post over at [livejournal.com profile] bsg_epics about characters that we like but underuse.

I had chosen Boomer and received the prompt "Mistaken Identity" from [livejournal.com profile] astreamofstars, which... resulted in my being torn between using the prompt literally or more... twistingly. I still don't know about the end result. LOL! Also, warning: this was written while I was half-asleep, which is when I do most of my writing.

Almost 300 words
Characters: Sharon "Boomer" Valerii
Fandom: BSG
Genre: Gen
Rating: None really except for one imaginary curse word.

It had been a mistake... )

*waves* Hi!

Anyway, onwards then. The following items are for the always wonderful and lovely [livejournal.com profile] icedteainthebag, who is also our mod on this beautiful community. I was both excited AND terrified. Anyway, I hope the presents fit in with the request. I HOPE! Anyway, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

Title: Wear the Masks on Dionysia Day
Fandom: Battlestar Galactica
Genre: Uhmm... Is cracky!Angst a genre?
Rating: T
Spoilers: Everything. Well, I always say that just in case.
Characters/Pairings: *ahem* Six(es)/Baltar//Laura with a side of Laura/Bill and Laura/Billy fun
Summary: This, in a way, also addresses the two very diverse depictions of Baltar as a character – the serious arbiter of great tragedy and the comic fool of a divine play. See what I did there? I have a feeling this is already heading towards crack. >>” Anyway, my first attempt at writing this… relationship (as well as this character – in a way), so have at it. Also, all mistakes are unfortunately mine.

Now, Part II:
Title: Gifts Laura Roslin Didn’t Get for People from Present-Day Earth (AKA: “Our” Earth)
Fandom: Battlestar Galactica
Genre: Crack/Humour
Rating: K+
Spoilers: Everything. Well, I always say that just in case.
Characters/Pairings: Laura's mind... on various characters; A/R
Summary: The woes and joys of a successful holiday shopping spree.

Honestly... )

*headdesk and hugs you and all the others!* I really do hope it's all okay. My writing... has been more than a bit odd. LOL! :) Thank you for organizing all of this as well.

Title: Pause; Review
Fandom: Battlestar Galactica
Genre: Angst, a little Romance, Gen (?)
Rating: K+/PG
Spoilers: everything?
Characters/Pairings: Laura, Bill, some others...
Summary: Start, stop and rewind. Medbay and illness plays catalyst to unwinding thoughts.
A/N: This was uhmm... written quite a while back during an... interesting time for me.

Time is truly incorporeal. Never quite as long or short as a person wants )

Title: Standing on Deserted Ground
Fandom: Battlestar Galactica
Genre: Uhmmm...
Rating: K+/PG
Characters/Pairings: Bill and Laura, Adama/Roslin
Summary: Post "Six of One". A short piece in Bill's perspective. (*gasp*)
A/N: Obviously, I'm a bit surprised that I actually wrote this... As always, all mistakes are mine, and all feedback/critique is appreciated.

Past or present, who we are, who we've become... )

Title: Changing Winds
Fandom: X-Men
Rating: PG
Genre: Gen
Characters/Pairings: President McKenna, Hank McCoy, Logan (hints of Logan/Jean and Scott/Jean)
Summary: Post X3 and the Alcatraz/Dark Phoenix incident. (Spoilers)
A/N: This was written as an exchange of sorts for [livejournal.com profile] phoenix_cry. I hope it's okay and fits what you wanted. It's my first attempt to write for X-Men though I've loved it since childhood. (Jean was probably the character that started off my fascination for red-heads apparently.) :)

Ashes, ashes... )

Title: The Art of Living (or How to Run through Empty Space without a Plan
Genre: Gen (I think), and maybe a bit of Angst
Rating: T+
Word Count: 1563
Summary: Some differences are so small as to be invisible...
A/N This is somewhat different, in terms of style, theme, and characters being dealt with, from what I've tried before. In many ways, it's sort of like an experiment. I'm actually not sure how to explain it, but I hope it's readable anyway. As always feedback/critique is always welcome.

MLH entries

I've realized that I haven't ever put these on here. This is mainly for organizational purposes - well, an attempt at organizing.

Please expect spoilers.
Disclaimer: I do not own anything.

MLH 8:
Title: Fireworks
Rating: K+
Characters/Pairing: Laura (of course); slight AR
Summary: Shining clearly through a haze... Times and moments come and go, and things are enjoyed.
AN: To be completely honest, I had forgotten about MLH, but badly wanted to write because I needed a release (and I missed Laura). Hence, this was rushed/last minute sort of idea that had sparked and though my roommate is probably never ever going to be on LJ, I'd like to thank her anyway for reading through this and allowing me my jumpiness. LOL!

Laura had a perfect view... )

MLH 6:
Title: Iter
Rating: K+
Characters/Pairing: Laura; gen?
Summary: Everything happens again and again. If so - Why not have it be the happy things?
AN: Also, warning of angst despite it being "make Laura happy"? Apparently my conception of this... is odd. Also, the title, 'iter', is a play off of Latin roots. :)

It is a repetitive cycle... )
obsessive_a101: (Default)
There has been a slight delay due to hectic-ness, but it's here, and I hope it is okay. A Secret Santa fic for [livejournal.com profile] mary_fan who requested a fanfic based in late 4.5 dealing with a sort of "lost moment" between Adama and Roslin where they could get to know each other better. I just hope this is okay.

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

Title: Too Long Ago
Author: obsessive_a101
Fandom: BSG
Rating: T-ish
Spoilers: Everything
Summary/Notes: (with thanks to [livejournal.com profile] amethysth who reads through everything to make sure I'm not completely losing it) We live until those memories are gone from us - each day becoming new.

Too long... )

Hi! This is another one of those story ideas that wouldn't leave me alone until written (hence, my chronic though random bouts of actual writing). The timing (the song below is very fitting for my life at the moment) is also rather... inconvenient most of the times.

This is my first attempt at this fandom, and none of the characters actually belong to me. I am not sure if I manage to capture the characters, but I hope that I did succeed if only a little bit. As always, any and all feedback is greatly appreciated. I hope everyone enjoys it.

Title: Pencil Drawings in the Afternoon Sun
Fandom: E/R (1985)
Characters: The Sheridan family
Genre: Gen (I believe?)
Rating: K+ (At most)
Words: 3070 (One-shot)
Spoilers: None really, except for some minor ones from throughout the show.
Summary: A bit of a prequel - there are moments in growing up that seem to define who we become - the shadows created by sunlight on paper that we choose how to trace out.

Some of Eve's earliest memories were of the quiet room... )
obsessive_a101: (Default)
This was a project that was spurred by a discussion item in [livejournal.com profile] rememberlaura  a few weeks (?) back on missing moments or scenes that we wished to have seen with Laura. Somehow, that, in my head, grew into music and little bits of writing - at times random, at times pure crack, and sometimes serious. The following is a fanmix that's also part of a story of interpreting experiences - trying to explore what it means to be with a character with which we graze in a single scene and imagine how the tangled web flows from there. In other words, it is waaay too late for me to be up and typing this, and I am probably not making any sense. XD

Anyway, this is just a fanmix/writing hybrid project - I hope you enjoy the music. This is both my first fanmix AND my first attempt at photoshop, so I apologize if it's not very good, but all the same - the music is music (eclectic at times as it can be), and I hope everyone enjoys it, and maybe, can imagine bits of their Laura in it as well - living through those scenes.
